Q: What toe should I wear my ring on? Which is most comfortable?

A: Most people wear their toe ring on the second toe (next to the big toe), in the center, just below or at the first joint. The wide toe pad keeps the toe ring on, but you must use some pressure and moisture to slide the ring over the pad (we like Windex the best), so that it slips nicely in place. Need to know your size? Check out our sizing page for great tips.

Q: How do I get a fitted toe ring on my toe?

A: A fitted toe ring might be a bit difficult to get over the tip of the toe, but when on, should rest comfortably at the center knuckle. We recommend using window cleaner or a non-oily evaporative wetting solution sprayed on your toe before trying to slide it on. This helps add some lubrication that will dry fast while not adding lotion or oils that might cause it to slip off.

Start by sliding the ring over the widest part of the toe in a rocking back and forth motion, pressing the ring from side to side. With a little pressure it should slide on. Usually a toe ring is much easier to pull OFF than it is to slide on. The ring should not move around too much and should not come off too easily. It should not be too loose or too tight. It should feel comfortable, even in a tightly-laced tennis shoe. When you have a good fit, you know it.

Q: What if my toe ring doesn't feel right?

A: Try it for a day or two and you should know if the fit is right. We guarantee your toe ring for workmanship and fit for up to 30 days, so if you need to return it for a refund or to try a different size.

Q: I need to return my toe ring for a new size or refund. What should I do?

A: We want you to love your toe ring and will do everything possible to make that happen! Enclose the return slip that came with your order and tell us what you need. You have 30 days to try it out, exchange, or return for a full refund.  Always return your rings in a padded envelope. If you have lost your slip, please include your full name, address, phone number and invoice number if you have it, along with instructions - try a new size, refund, etc. We try and turn these around the same or next day they come in. After processing, you will get an email from us with the package tracking information.

Q: How much is shipping?

A: We currently offer FREE SHIPPING (US orders only) on orders over $40 via USPS First Class with Delivery Confirmation. We also offer a variety of options for shipping. First Class about $5, and Priority Mail 2-3 day with confirmation runs about $7. We also offer Express Mail overnight, Federal Express, and FedEx Saver. International shipping varies.

Q: I have toes that are straight up and down. Will a toe ring work for me?

A: You should have at least a 1 mm difference in size between the toe pad and the toe center for a ring to stay put. If there is no difference in size between the pad and toe knuckle, consider ordering your ring 1 mm smaller so it will fit snug and not slip off as easily. Or you can try one of our new adjustable toe rings!

Q: Do men wear toe rings?

A: Many men wear toe rings! Over the years we have heard from lots of guys who enjoy this unique unisex jewelry. The old saying says: You never know unless you try. So why not?

Q: Do kids wear toe rings?

A: Yes, but growing kids will want to check their toe rings periodically to make sure that their feet are not growing so fast that the toe ring becomes a permanent bodily fixture. Give the ring a couple of turns and make sure that it still moves around freely. Tight rings should be removed with Windex or oil and saved for the next generation of cool kids.

Q: Will a sterling silver toe ring change color on me?

A: If you swim in pools with high chlorine levels, you may want to remove your toe ring every time you swim. Also, some people with high acidic levels in their body chemistry may experience a color change in the skin area under the ring that looks slightly gray. You can coat the ring with clear nail polish or go with 14k gold. If you need to clean your ring, use a soft cloth. We like the Sunshine Polishing Cloth available online.

Q: Sometimes I get a black ring on my skin under my rings. This has happened with both sterling and 14K gold. Am I allergic to metal? What can I do to prevent this?

A: Customers may think that faulty manufacturing might be the problem when a ring "turns," blackening or discoloring the skin and clothing, or the jewelry itself. However, that is not the case. The most common reason is metallic abrasion caused by makeup on skin or clothing. Lotions and cremes can also cause metals to react on skin. Cosmetics often contain compounds harder than the jewelry itself, which wear or rub off very tiny particles. Very finely divided metal always appears black rather than metallic, so it looks like a jet-black dust. When this dust comes into contact with absorbent surfaces such as skin or clothing, it sticks, forming a black smudge. To prevent this, try switching cosmetics. If this is not possible, remove rings and other jewelry while applying them, and clean skin areas in contact with jewelry with soap and water.

Another cause is actual corrosion of the metals. Silver does not corrode, but its primary alloys will do so, forming very dark chemical compounds under moist or wet conditions. When you perspire, fats and fatty acids released can cause corrosion of silver jewelry, especially when exposed to warmth and air. This problem can be worse in seacoast and semitropical areas, where chlorides combine with perspiration to form a corrosive element that discolors skin. Smog fumes gradually attack jewelry and are evident as a tarnish that rubs off on the skin.

Remove jewelry often and use an absorbent powder, free of abrasives, on skin that comes into contact with jewelry. Clean the rings with a polishing cloth frequently (you can get one from your local jeweler). As well as solving the problem, you’ll be amazed at how much better the rings look!
